01-13-2013 09:41 AM. Don't own a 6D but I've read plenty. It appears that the 6D's shutter assembly is whats it is and nothing that firmware can alter. Aside from the lower max shutter speed, the assembly is rated at 100,000 actuations instead of 150,000.

Canon 6D vs 5D Mark III | Key Differences. See More Reviews. Editor's Choice. 1. Size & Weight. The Canon EOS 6D and the Canon EOS 5D Mark III are both full-frame DSLRs, but while the 5D is designed as a rugged, professional camera, Canon really managed to cut down on size and weight for the 6D. Video -> 6D, only photo-> 5D3. The autofocus system on the 6D might be newer but it's worse. It's the same AF system as the 80D, but on a full frame. Same size, so it doesn't go all the way to the edge of the frame. If you only shoot personal, I'd go for the 6D regardless, if you're pro, then 5D
Why is Canon EOS 5D Mark III better than Canon EOS 6D? 50 more focus points? 61 vs 11 15.84% more megapixels (main camera)? 23.4MP vs 20.2MP 33.33% faster shooting at highest resolution with AF as JPEG format? 6fps vs 4.5fps 50% faster maximum shutter speed? 1/8000s vs 1/4000s Has dual card slots? 6.67% bigger screen size? 3.2" vs 3"
If the 7DII is really only just over a stop worse than the 6D, that's actually great for the 7DII. The 6D has Canon's best full frame low light sensor. That's about 2.5 times bigger than an APS-C sensor. If an APS-C sensor can come even close to just one stop worse than that, that would be terrific. Not sure about long exposures in particular, but most of the reputable reviews I have seen say that the 6D has a slight noise advantage over 5D3, but only at high ISO's. Part may be due to the sensor being just a bit newer, but I am sure part of it is simply good-old-fashioned lower pixel density d KIY0Jo. 155 20 78 156 196 109 362 69 183
