What Peylix said. As for myself, if you get a DSG, make DAMN SURE there were DSG service intervals every 40k (my regret), or else your wallet and stress will be killing you. I am happy with my FSI engine ('05-'08), just make sure the cam follower was done and it had the timing belt taken care of.

For stg 1 my tuner recommends oil every 5-8k and plugs every 10-15k (preferred close to 10, with as well buying the upgraded plugs vs stock). Apr coil packs recommended but not a necessity right away. You'll lose only a few mpg overall on stg 1 but the hp boost is worth in my opinion.
